THE LOCATION

Ride with Refugees starts and stops at the BakerRipley Gulfton Sharpstown Campus. We invite non-riders to enjoy the playground and kid-friendly Activity Fair sponsored by refugee-focused non-profits. H-E-B will provide refreshments for all!

THE ROUTE

Our ride is 7 miles long and will include a halfway rest stop for water. For our safety, the Houston Police Department will provide bike escort and RwR will provide ride marshalls. All riders must already know how to ride a bike.

The mission of Ride with Refugees is to raise awareness about resettlement and empower refugees through mobility.

SCHEDULE for 2024

8:30 am All riders arrive at Baker-Ripley Gulfton Sharpstown campus. Riders are responsible for securing their own bikes; we recommend bringing a bike lock for before and after the ride.
9:00 am Depart and ride 7 miles around the Gulfton Sharpstown neighborhood
Police escort will be provided for the entire route; minimum age for riders is 12 years old, and all riders must already know how to ride a bike. We will have a halfway water pit stop at Burnett-Bayland Park.
9:55 am Return to Baker-Ripley
10:00 am Listen to a brief presentation about refugee resettlement in Houston and meet some non-profits making a difference.
9:00 to 11:30 am Ride with Refugees Activity Fair!
Enjoy refreshments and family-friendly activities.

PARKING

Parking is available in the Baker-Ripley parking lot or along the surrounding streets. Please pay attention to street signs for legal parking areas.
